OBJECTIVE:
Senior Supervisor, Personal Injury Protection Litigation Claims Objective
To assist the manager of MACP and SIU in managing all functions of the Litigation Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Unit to provide prompt and efficient handling, control, and disposition of PIP claims. To establish and maintain quality control of claim processing functions by staff and defense counsel regarding PIP losses.To aid in the assessment and adoption of best practices and industry benchmarks to continually improve customer service and act as a liaison with other divisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior Supervisor, Personal Injury Protection Litigation Claims Responsibilities
Assist the manager of MACP and SIU in planning, organizing, and managing all claims and clerical functions of the Litigation Personal Injury Protection Claims Unit to have a significant positive effect on the overall profit of the company.
Provide quality service to the insured and aid in the risk selection and retention of business by maintaining an effective field service operation.
Research, implement, maintain, and monitor processes that will lead to successful and consistent service standard delivery. Stay abreast of technological enhancements to ensure that the team has the tools it needs to support the functions.
Conduct regular and ongoing examinations and audits as scheduled of litigation PIP claim files to assure the proper handling according to company policies, procedures, and reserving practices. Report variances to the manager of MACP and SIU. Make recommendations and adjustments, as necessary, on casualty claim files, to ensure timely and equitable disposition of claims as well as field service inspection quality.Maintain financial standards through periodic review of reserving practices.

Recruit and retain qualified staff, measure and reward performance, and plan for succession. Develop and implement a departmental training program. Utilize in-house and external resources to define training objectives and expectations. Measure results with a focus on effectiveness and consistency. Identify areas of opportunity for training for the department and division as a whole; locate or create and facilitate training for teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Senior Supervisor, Personal Injury Protection Litigation Claims Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree required, with emphasis on insurance, business, or communications preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum ten years of claims work required, with emphasis on handling complex claims.
Minimum five years of claims supervision experience required, with a strong customer service background preferred.
Litigation experience required, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
Designation in AIC, CPCU, or similar insurance designation required, or actively being pursued.
Preferred
Experience with reinsurance preferred.
