A highly esteemed NYC Nonprofit is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join their dedicated team. This essential role will supervise the financial service operations staff, overseeing all aspects of accounts payable, cash disbursements, and general accounting.
Alongside close collaboration with the payroll unit, the Assistant Controller will also monitor working capital accounts to forecast cash flow, ensuring there are always sufficient funds available for ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
Your responsibilities will also extend to maintaining relationships with bankers, managing the general ledger, and leading month-end close. Additionally, you will be responsible for the preparation and filing of sales tax on a monthly and quarterly basis.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 5+ years supervisory experience within a nonprofit environment
- CPA required
- Grants experience is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
