Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Spacecraft Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. The hired employee will be responsible for completing design, analysis, and test tasks as they relate to propulsion systems, mechanical design, and spacecraft systems.This position is open to candidates with Mechanical or Aerospace degrees that have design and drafting experience. Senior level candidates will be responsible for small to medium sized projects or components and will be expected to work with little supervision and solve complex problems independently.
Responsibilities and Duties- Using industry standard tools, the design engineer will be expected to perform job duties under general direction to complete detailed CAD and drawings for machined parts, mechanisms, and propulsion systems.
- Tasks include designing spacecraft components, supporting analysis, production, and test.
- Experience designing for the space environment is required.
- Document and implement necessary designs of detailed parts and assemblies to meet Design for Manufacturing &Test principles.
- Analyze performance data using industry standard methods and tools. Ensure designs and builds meet customer requirements.
- Perform testing on components and assemblies including environmental testing.
- Document test results and customer requirements, assist with the development of production procedures for designs.
- Bachelor's degree with focus on engineering.
- 4 Years of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering experience. (Years negotiable depending on previous experience.)
- CAD design and drawing release preferably SolidWorks.
- GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) expertise and performing tolerance analysis.
- Capable of writing specifications, test reports and procedures.
- Experience with Spacecraft Fabrication and Test.
- Ground Support Equipment Design experience.
- 8 hour shift
