About Our Client
Our client is a highly regarded national general contractor with extensive experience in industrial, warehouse, and commercial construction. With a reputation for delivering large, complex projects - they are looking to break ground on a new large project early 2025 and need an Assistant Superintendent to join the team before they break ground.
Job Description
The Assistant Superintendent - Industrial Construction - New Jersey will:
- Assist the Superintendent in managing day-to-day operations on industrial and warehouse construction sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Supervise subcontractors, laborers, and vendors, ensuring work is performed according to plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Oversee the staging and coordination of materials, equipment, and tools to ensure jobsite efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards, enforcing safety protocols and addressing potential hazards.
- Assist in the preparation and review of project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and quality assurance forms.
- Facilitate communication between field personnel, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Monitor and help manage subcontractor performance, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
- Assist in the tracking of project progress, identifying and addressing any delays, shortages, or other issues that may affect the timeline or budget.
- Help maintain project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and daily reports for proper record-keeping and project tracking.
- Participate in meetings and inspections with clients, architects, and engineers as required.

The Successful Applicant
The Assistant Superintendent - Industrial Construction - New Jersey should have:
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in construction, specifically with industrial and warehouse projects.
- Candidates must possess a strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and managing day-to-day site operations is essential.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required, and proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore) is preferred.
- A background in industrial or warehouse construction is a must, and a degree or certification in construction management is a plus.
