Primary Skills:
Tier1-2 Network Backbone Design (MPLS, L2VPN, QOS EVPN, VPLS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, DMVPN) Software Defined Network (WAN, LAN, NSX, and Cloud), Wireless, VPN, Network Function Virtualization, Data Center Automation, SD-WAN, and Network Security
Position Summary:
- Responsible for defining the overarching network architecture, recommending, and validating
- Networking technologies such as Tier1-2 Network Backbone Design (MPLS, L2VPN, QOS EVPN, VPLS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, DMVPN) Software Defined Network (WAN, LAN, NSX, and Cloud), Wireless, VPN, Network Function Virtualization, Data Center Automation, SD-WAN, and Network Security
- Communication technologies for Voice, Data and Video, Collaboration, and Conferencing (Teams/Zoom)
- Cloud infrastructure design with specific focus on Network Integration (Public, Private and Hybrid)
- Market trends and keep pace with technology innovations
- Solution pilots and proof of concepts of new products
- Large network automation (Ansible) and management solutions
- Reduce Operating cost and drive efficiency with innovative design solutions.
- Strategic design and roadmap planning significant influence as the expert to review, recommend and design the solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Candidate must possess in-depth technical knowledge of competitive vendor landscapes. A broad knowledge across network, cloud, security, and emerging technology disciplines is required.
- Extensive Experience of Network architecture in areas of WAN, LAN, DC, SDN design
- Solid understanding of SD-WAN technologies connecting 300+ sites
- Solid understanding of Cloud based technologies and trends, IaaS, UCaaS (Public, Private Hybrid Clouds)
- Extensive experience in data center migration initiatives, workload migration, cut-over, fail-over planning.
- Extensive Experience: BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, DMVPN, PIM, QoS, VRRP, HSRP, LACP, PAGP
- Extensive Cisco Experience (Nexus 2K/7K/9K, ISR4331, Router and Switches, i-WAN, Wi-Fi)
- Experience with Cisco, Citrix, Aruba, Gigamon, Juniper, Forescout, SolarWinds, SevOne is a plus
- Storing knowledge with network storage, capacity planning, security controls, data center virtualization
- Ability to work both independently and as a team leader with employees at all levels in the organizational hierarchy
- Hands on experience with Cisco and Non-Cisco network, security, and telephony platforms
- Familiarity with BIG Data concepts and Best Practices
- Hands on experience with Load Balancers (Citrix), High Performance Compute Engines (Gigamon), Wireless Controllers and Network Access Controls (NAC)
- Expertise using Visio to produce detailed network documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present to Senior Management.
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Strong network troubleshooting via packet and protocol analysis
Principal Responsibilities:
- Role requires extensive experience engineering of large network infrastructure and emerging technologies.
- Serve as a key representative on major network initiatives and emerging technology
- Collaborates with other SMEs and technical support teams in the pursuit of technically excellent solutions.
- Provide technical leadership in the discipline of Networking technologies
- Work closely with cross functional teams across multiple disciplines
- Publish and present strategy papers, proof of concepts and best practices.
- Recommend, plan, implement and support cloud and on-premises network solutions for performance, resiliency, and scale
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of emerging technologies, challenges, and solutions
- Capable of quickly learning new technologies and drive adoption, Proof of Concepts with technology teams.
- Lead high level scoping and costing activities for network enhancements and upgrades.
- Conduct and participate in Root Cause Analysis in support of production incidents
- Define, document, and evangelize networking standards and principles with other teams
- Coordinate network or design activities with designers of associated networks.
- Determine specific network hardware or software requirements, such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
- Monitor and analyze network performance to detect problems, identify inefficient use of computer resources, or perform capacity planning
