Plans And Carries Out Activities In The Patient Care Area In Regards To The Interpretation And Execution Of Diets As Prescribed By Physicians, The Counseling Of The Patients And Their Families, Continuity Of Care And Other Services Related To The Dietetic Area Of Patients; Assists In The Development Of New Programs, Policies And Procedures As Related To The Clinical Dietetic Area Of The Department.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Develops And Implements Plans Of Care Based On Assessment Of Nutritional Needs Of Patients And Correlates Such Plans With Other Health Care Activities.
  • 2. Counsels Patients And Families On Their Diets, To Include Nutritional Principles, Food Selections, Economics And Adaptation To The Patients Lifestyle.
  • 3. Communicates Appropriate Dietary History And Nutrition Care Data Through Written Records Systems. Documents Information Concerning Nutritional Care In Patient Medical Records.
  • 4. Participates In Multidisciplinary Patient Care Rounds/Team Meetings As Assigned.
  • 5. Evaluates Food Served For Conformance To Quality Standards And Diet Prescription.
  • 6. Consults And Counsels The Patient Nutrition Representatives Regarding The Following For Which They Are Responsible, Processing Of Diet Orders, Menus And Other Directives Related To Patient Care Modification Of Menus According To Established Patterns And Procedures Of All Aspects Of Floor Supervision.
  • 7. Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
  • 8. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

B.S. Degree In Dietetics Or Related Science

EXPERIENCE

One (1) Years' Experience Preferred

LICENSURE

Ada Registered Dietitian
