Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Building Engineer to join our team in Baltimore. The Building Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of a large commercial building. This position requires a thorough understanding of safety practices, building systems, and general maintenance procedures.The Building Engineer must have strong problem-solving and communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
A typical day may look something like this:
- General HVAC maintenance and repair of standard building equipment - Chiller operations, Cooling towers, and boiler maintenance
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain equipment to industry standards.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by supervisor.
- Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction.
- Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed.
- Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders.
Qualifications:
So as much as we would love to hear from everyone, there are some specific things we are looking for in your profile. You might have:
- Experience rebuilding pumps and motors
- General maintenance on AHU, and induction units
- Must be familiar with BAS operations and fire alarm panels
- Must have five (5) years experience in large commercial building
