Controls Engineer

Growing company in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area is seeking a Controls Engineer to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing.

Experience designing industrial control systems and proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical required.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

responsibilities:

  • Study detailed specification documents and drawings to understand project requirements and design control systems and safety circuits
  • Participate in the pre-sales effort by working directly with sales team and customers to identify scope of work and technical requirements
  • Use your knowledge of commercially available hardware and software to research, evaluate, select and apply a wide variety of industrial control system components.
  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to create enclosure and Backpanel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, conduit schedules
  • Provide guidance to panel shop assemblers during project construction and perform in-house final testing before delivery.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics) from an accredited program
  • Experience designing industrial control systems using PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC/Servo Drives, sensors, safety devices
  • Proficient using AutoCAD Electrical to draw enclosure layouts and system schematics
  • strong knowledge of electrical equipment and components used in automated machinery and industrial control systems
  • Ability to program/troubleshoot Siemens and other brand PLC hardware a plus
  • Experience integrating ABB or FANUC robots with PLCs a plus
