Staff Accountant
Adecco currently has immediate job openings for Staff Accountant in Newark, New Jersey.
This is a 6 month temporary job with potential to convert or extend.
This is a HYBRID role - IN OFFICE TUE & WED. Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
You will be required to work overtime three days of the month during closing. That is the first three working days of the month.
This role is responsible for coordinating and performing account analysis and reconciliations.
Additional responsibilities include: Accounts payable, projects, and maintenance of internal controls including J-SOX compliance and other audit requests as necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Closing:
- Prepare/post journal entries, reclass entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Manage prepaid expenses, fixed/intangible assets, and non-trade receivables/payables
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and lead inter-company reconciliations
- Support cash management and global settlements
- Assist with monthly closing and back up team responsibilities
- Support business units with bookkeeping under finance partner guidance
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct account analysis, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions
- Review general ledger accounts and correct journal entries
- Assist with financial statements, variance analysis, and tax packages
- Perform SAP procedures (sales commission, leases, inventory, etc.)
- Handle ad-hoc reporting and ensure proper documentation
Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, and JSOX requirement
- Ensure protection of company assets in all areas through front line knowledge and experience
Pay: $44.77 per hour
Required:
SAP knowledge 2. Basic accounting (P&L, Balance Sheets 3. Variance Analysis BASIC FUNCTION: The staff accountant has primary responsibility for financial accounting and financial reporting, including profit and loss statement and balance sheet management.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Minimum of 2 years cumulative accounting experience. Advance Excel, MS Office Suite. SAP is strongly preferred. Knowledge about Ariba, Concur, BPC and participation in any system implementation is a plus.
Pay Details: $44.77 per hour
