Mechanical Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that customer quotes and production documents are prepared accurately, on time and meet the customers objectives.- Reviews customer drawing package for Wiring Harnesses and Control Panels for completeness.
- Evaluates existing manufacturing processes and identifies areas for improvement.
- Develops quotes for products based on customer drawings
- Creates engineering masters, bills of materials, work instructions, and detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for staff to use and abide by.
- Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness, and quality.
- Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Develops detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
- Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
- Provides support to assembly personnel during build process.
- Advises operators of proper procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic test equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Coordinates equipment maintenance and repair services and ensures that manufacturer"s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
- Uses electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
- Customizes units and makes adjustments or repairs according to written specifications.
- Maintains and writes work procedures and all related documentation for each task performed.
- Uses good communication skills to work closely with other team members to provide solutions in the area of electronic instrumentation and control systems.
- Designs and creates tooling on 3D printer when appropriate
- Other Tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Salary Range $70,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
