Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineer who can dive deep technically and with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch hardware, software and systems engineers to develop and refine hardware test strategy.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:
  • Dive deep into our testing methodologies to transform manual testing into highly automated test solutions
  • Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of software solutions for manufacturing, EOL, and lab testing
  • Ensure work is consistently high quality (e.g., maintainable, reliable, efficient, etc.) and incorporates best practices
  • Ensure code reviews are rapid and uneventful. Provide useful code reviews for changes submitted by others.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions, taking on projects that identify and mitigate risk while measuring software quality.
  • Improve your team’s automation of development, testing and deployment.
  • Design, develop and execute test plans and reporting on test execution.
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java. Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Experience in test automation frameworks and tools building
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test(SDET) with strong object-oriented design and coding skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in Test framework design and development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, and test suite development and maintenance.
  • Experience with Agile testing methodologies and best practices.- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test(SDET)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
