Medical Assistant

Overview:

The Medical Assistant works as part of a collaborative team with their assigned provider and other members of the clinical team to manage the care of their assigned patient panel. This dynamic role provides comprehensive, compassionate care, both telephonic and in person.

This is a clinic-based position located in the Midtown area of Atlanta, GA. (2140 Peachtree Rd).

The position offers a consistent work schedule that does not include weekends or holidays! General work hours are Mon - Fri, during 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

About the Role:

  • Collaborate with the provider to care for the assigned patient panel
  • Triage patient needs by administering diagnostic testing and measuring/recording vital signs
  • Performs medication administration and reconciliation
  • Manages patient flow by updating patient medical records
  • Communicate and facilitates preventive health care needs
  • Maintaining examination rooms preparedness by restocking medications, supplies and equipment as needed
  • Assist with answering incoming phone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Embrace and perform in the spirit of the company’s core values and goals
  • Additional responsibilities assigned as needed

About You:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a related health field
  • One or more years as a Medical Assistant or related experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Must have a current BLS Certification
  • Experienced with Infectious Diseases or HIV Care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to promote optimal patient care
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Strong MS Office computer skills with the ability to type 30+ wpm
  • Familiarity with eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service
