Overview:

The MDRS Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Fort Stewart MDRS, ensuring optimal performance in scheduling, inspection, inventory management, storage, and shipment processes. This role includes overseeing a team of 20 employees engaged in maintenance, supply, and transportation tasks while prioritizing safety and compliance with established regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Directly responsible for the overall management of the contracted workforce, overseeing supervision and labor associated with scheduling, receiving, inspecting, repairing, storing, and preparing equipment for shipment in accordance with generated Disposition Instructions and Proposed Sourcing Decisions within the Decision Support Tool (DST).
  • Inventory Control: Monitor equipment turn-in, ensuring equipment is scheduled for turn-in per FORSCOM and Army Sustainment Command directives, EXORDS/OPORDS, and other official documentation based on government needs and shifting priorities.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage day-to-day maintenance support for MDRS operations, including oversight of field-level maintenance operations, control of labor, tools, repair parts, consumable supplies, and facilities. Coordinate, synchronize, and execute daily and weekly maintenance mission requirements and functional area reporting based on unit turn-in workloads, work orders, and maintenance cycle timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure equipment maintenance-related inspections and repairs are conducted only when there is a non-ASC customer-funded Contract Line-Item Number (CUN) on contract, including an associated density list of equipment for 10/20 repairs and transportation feasibility inspections to meet DOT standards for turn-in to Depot and/or DLA OS.
  • Transportation Coordination: Oversee all transportation functions within MDRS, ensuring timely coordination of requests for commercial transportation. Ensure that all equipment to be shipped meets standards for commercial movement, is staged, and safely loaded onto commercial transport. Verify the completeness of the Funds Verification and Use Authorization (FVUA) and ensure the assigned TAC is valid.
  • Personnel Management: Perform employee discipline counseling, conduct employee performance reviews, and manage personnel reporting, including approval of leave requests and timesheet reviews. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and attend scheduled and unscheduled meetings and briefings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, and procedures in logistics management to ensure accountability of all assigned property.
  • Operational Improvement: Utilize analytical techniques to identify areas for improvement in supply and equipment management processes, enhancing operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions in logistics management.
  • Skills in verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, execute plans and prepare reports, plans, and work instructions.
  • Proficient in with STAMIS systems (GCSS-Army), with comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and supply services, and operational skills and knowledge of automated supply systems utilized.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20 years of experience in DoD Supply Support Activities, Maintenance, or Transportation fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience at the Brigade Support Operations Level or higher.
  • Certification in GCSS-Army, specifically concerning Property Book transactions for Class VII items.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
