QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED required. Valid driver’s license required. Associate degree in Chemical Dependency, Addictions, Community Service, Native American Studies, Human Service, Education or Social Work preferred. A minimum of two years of experience with youth programming, substance misuse, mental health promotion or suicide/crisis intervention/response required.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends. Must be certified in QPR, TIC, and Peer Support Specialist, or must be willing to obtain these certifications within 12 months of hire. Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook.

This is a grant funded position: through July 2025. Continuation of this position beyond the initial grant period is subject to continued funding and/or demonstrated need.

ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a positive peer relationship and performs as a team player.
  • Plans and prioritizes to maintain a time and attendance record which complies with company policy.
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service assistance, providing knowledgeable and appropriate information to customers.
  • Works independently in a very detail oriented manner and meets deadlines.

  • Employee utilizes breaks and meal periods to care for personal business outside of the work area.
  • Employee completes work assignments in a timely manner and appropriately exits the work area in a timely manner.

  • Employee is available for scheduled work shifts primarily between 2pm – 9p, during school closures Communicates absence to supervisor in a timely manner if unavailable.
  • Employee is available to work evening and teen outreach and pro-social events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a positive role model for youth and program participants.
  • Staffs the Teen Room at the Coeur Center for after school support and engagement.
  • Provide teen transportation for special events, field trips and after daily programming.
  • Organizes and facilitates projects, cultural activities and infuse Boys & Girls Club evidenced based curriculum/programming to support and engage youth.
  • Provides information and assistance to help clinicians formulate client treatment plans and coordination of services.
  • Organize, facilitate and support Youth Council meetings/events/activities in alignment with overall BGC programming.
  • Identifies community resources and collaborates with allied professionals to benefit those in seeking prevention, intervention, or recovery access to services.
  • Creates a supportive coaching relationship by increasing motivation and confidence to embrace positive actions through encouragement and substance misuse, suicide prevention, and mental health education.
  • Serves a liaison between Marimn Health and the consortium to offer input to aid the success of ongoing projects and partnerships with youth.
  • Works closely with the Wellbriety Program and Marimn Health Behavioral Health to ensure collaboration and continuity of care for mutual clients. Acts as a proponent for the Wellbriety Programs and shows personal investment in its success.
  • Assists Boys & Girls Club management by making recommendations for referrals for Behavioral Health services.
  • Write incident reports in alignment with organization policies in support to BGC management notifying and communicating with parent/guardians in a timely manner.
  • Supports Boys and Girls Club teen programming by staying abreast of current and upcoming activities and events.
  • Keep Manager informed, especially in regards to matters of significance that may arise, ensuring overall youth safety.
  • Consistently demonstrate positive, effective communication skills and interactions with the Wellness Center Director, employees, members, volunteers, other agencies and organizations
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of, and comply with, Boys & Girls Club policies and procedures and consistently and appropriately enforce them.
  • Assist with transporting teens to club and home after club. This will include driving a 10-15 passenger van, possibly in inclement weather.
  • Work closely with the Boys & Girls Club Manager to assist with programming, community awareness, marketing, and community relations.
  • Attend required staff meetings.
  • Responsible for chaperoning at Boys & Girls Club events and activities.
  • Respond in a timely manner to assignments and communicates with Manager when timelines cannot be met.
  • Work as a team member of the Boys & Girls Club and Wellness Center.
  • Collaborate with various community partners to support organized and implementation of high quality youth programming.
  • Sit on a variety of internal organizational committees, and external community committees as appointed by the Boys & Girls Club Manager.
  • Knowledge of current trends related to running a Youth Program.
  • Actively participate in ongoing education toward applicable and additional certifications.
  • Participate in training opportunities available through BGCA.Net and Spillet.
  • Maintain current certifications before expiration date(s).
