Job Overview:

SSCI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will spearhead the testing efforts for our cutting-edge autonomy software, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies that cover all aspects of the software lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for autonomy software.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Maintain and oversee the autonomy and robotics lab, including facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain testbeds and autonomy payloads.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools to increase efficiency and coverage.
  • Perform regression testing, stress testing, and performance testing to validate software stability and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on autonomy software or related fields.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing autonomy and robotics labs.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of test engineers.
  • Research experience in Markov Decision Process, Control, and Reinforcement Learning applications.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or Java.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance

  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to autonomous systems.
