Responsibilities:

  • Monitor firm accounts and post daily cash receipts, including bank deposits, lockbox deposits, electronic transfers and credit card payments for both invoice payments and trust accounts
  • Perform daily cash receipts reconciliation to ensure all payments are posted timely
  • Work closely with billing staff to ensure that trust funds are available to be applied to invoices at the time of billing
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by internal staff and clients – for example fees billed and collected analyses, audit reports, etc.
  • Communicate with clients regarding payment discrepancies; review and reconcile differences to resolve any payment issues
  • Provide assistance with billing and accounts payable
  • Assist with other department activities/tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of this job.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience, preferably at a law firm or professional services firm
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new software
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and internal control concepts
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
