Responsibilities:
St John’s Regional Medical Center is hiring a Speech Therapist II to join our highly successful and growing team! We hire people who share our vision, work diligently, and provide care that will help improve our patient’s lives. You will have the ability to work with Adults and pediatrics.
Duties:
- Evaluate the patient’s speech, language, and/or cognitive abilities and deficits and assess and evaluate the patient’s level of function.
- Plan and provide rehabilitation services for speech and language disorders.
- Assist in developing and updating the plan of treatment.
- Provide assessment and treatment of cognitive and swallowing disorders.
- Select and administer diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and materials for patient evaluation and treatment purposes.
- Supports the department's customer service and performance improvement goals; collaborates with other caregivers/ staff, within and outside the department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and services.
- Competency for Modified Barium Swallow studies
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible to possess a current valid California State license in Speech Pathology. (Lic. SLP)
- Current AHA BLS.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians hospital departments and the general public.
- Demonstrates competent working knowledge of the principles standard practices procedures and equipment utilized in the department.
- Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.
- Ability to be flexible with caseload within any given day as needed for the benefit of the department.
This position is represented by L121 PRO and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
