Procurement Specialist

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in GILBERTS, Illinois. The primary function of this role is to facilitate and manage the buying process within our industry. The successful candidate will be tasked with processing purchase orders, managing vendor relations, and ensuring the timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of purchase orders in an efficient and timely manner
• Manage vendor relations and participate in negotiating pricing strategies
• Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of orders
• Maintain clear and consistent team communication
• Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor their performance
• Participate in the creation and management of the budget process
• Process invoices accurately and promptly
• Ensure the efficient use of the 'About Time' system for time management
• Contribute to the overall customer service efforts of the team.
• In-depth understanding of budget and buying processes.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to manage vendor relationships.
• Experience in invoice processing and vendor relations.
• Ability to maintain and manage vendor relationships effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade and influence others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in a procurement role is highly desirable.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
