Site Safety Specialist
Our client, a leader in commercial construction, has a need for a Site Safety Specialist. This project will start in late April/early May, and will run for 6 months to a year. If you will be available, meet the below criteria, and would like to be contacted when the project starts, please apply!
Safety Training (Will be provided and can be completed before starting):
Safety procedures, Safe Work/JSA, Lockout/Tagout, Hot work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, Working at Heights, Energized Electrical Safety
First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are needed

responsibilities:
- Review safety policies, site orientation, and create the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
- Approve contractors' safety documents, licenses, permits, and safety plans before work starts.
- Ensure proper site preparation, security, and other construction requirements are met.
- Provide safety training to contractors, approve work permits, and perform spot checks.
- Stop work if safety risks arise and participate in safety meetings and inspections.
- Investigate incidents, track safety performance, and address trends.
- Host AHJ inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Inspect work for safety, review work plans, and report safety issues.
- Help create safety punch lists and manage overall safety coordination.
- Act as the main contact for contractors and maintain communication with Operations and WPS teams.
- Attend weekly progress meetings, share safety updates, and coordinate shutdowns.
- Ensure environmental protection standards are met and promote safe behavior.
- Verify contractors' safety qualifications and health screening records.
