You will work directly with other members of our team and clients, building a relationship as a trusted tax specialist, advisor, and leader.

You will collaborate daily, developing solutions to complex tax issues through research, use of cutting-edge technology, and consultation with other team members.

What the job entails:

  • Prepare individual, entity, gift tax and non-profit tax returns - Form 1040,1065,1041, CA 565/568, 571L, 5227 and foreign filings
  • Prepare quarterly and/or annual tax estimates
  • Prepare Secretary of State, Franchise Tax Board, Gross Receipts tax and business property tax filings
  • Research technical tax matters and write memos documenting findings
  • Demonstrate beginner-level skills in utilizing tax preparation software (CCH, Bloomberg BNA)
  • Assist with year-end reporting of 1099s
  • Manage charitable contribution letters for annual tax packages
  • Maintain ownership of work products to ensure they have a polished appearance and are completed with the highest accuracy
  • Proactively manage internal firm deadlines in addition to external client deadlines
  • Proactively prioritize and manage tasks and projects assigned and keep them moving along through the review process and to completion
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong personal relationships with peers in the firm and business community
  • Take ownership of own time to ensure individual utilization targets are being met
  • Maintain accountability for themselves and all work products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA or actively pursuing a CPA designation
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a professional demeanor and be a positive thinker
  • Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation skills
  • Experience with Financial Statements and Accounting
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
  • High level of accuracy and strong quantitative skills, along with the highest level of ethics, honesty and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organization skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Exhibit professionalism and maintain client confidentiality
  • Results driven, self-starter who likes to take on new challenges
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team

Physical + Work Environment Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • When working remotely: quiet, undisturbed working space to preserve and maintain client confidentiality
