Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in a procedural setting. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.Acts as a role model and resource to other clinical staff in the area.

Required Qualifications:
- PALS certification upon hire
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting
- Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
- Knowledge and practice of age related acuity levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
- Current California RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- 2 years current Interventional GI experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements
- Previous experience in medical surgical ICU
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Experience in Gastroenterology
- Demonstrated GI/endoscopy experience
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
