School Health Nurse - NJSCHRN - South Plainfield

• Pay: Total stipend of $120,000 annually

Qualifications:

1. Valid state-issued School Nurse Certification
2. Strong communication and organizational skills
3. Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
4. Required criminal background check and proof of U.S. legal work status

Performance Responsibilities:

• Provides first aid and emergency care to students during school hours.
• Conducts routine health assessments and screenings, including vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks as required by law.
• Maintains and updates individual student health records, including immunization status, chronic illness information, and medical history.
• Communicates with parents about medical concerns and follows up on treatment plans as needed.
• Monitors and tracks absenteeism due to illness and reports any trends or outbreaks to school administration.
• Administers medications to students according to physician orders and district policy.
• Participates in school-wide health initiatives, including wellness programs and health education sessions for students and staff.
