NOC Engineer - Somerset - ref. s12603619

This position is vital for coordinating equipment movements, installations, and decommissions to ensure the efficient operation of our technical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Translate IT and vendor requests into work orders to facilitate an organized workflow
• Schedule and coordinate the movement of equipment between different locations within the buildings
• Maintain the overall health and cleanliness of communication rooms and storage rooms
• Manage the installation requests from initiation to closure, including equipment testing and final connections
• Provide on-call support when required, including troubleshooting and break-fix activities
• Monitor environmental conditions within technology spaces and take appropriate action
• Coordinate work requests with the electrical contractor to ensure service levels are met
• Act as the on-site contact for vendor walkthroughs for communication rooms
• Assist in preventative maintenance activities in conjunction with the property management office
• Perform server configurations and troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure seamless operations. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a NOC Engineer role or similar
• Proven expertise in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• Proficient in working with Cisco Routers and other Cisco Technologies
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Technologies
• Experience with Juniper NetScreen
• Familiarity with AB Testing processes and procedures
• Proficiency in Active Directory management
• Understanding of Backup Technologies
• Ability to work with Circuit Board technologies
• Proficient in handling Computer Hardware
• Knowledge of Physical layer or layer 1 network protocols
• Experience with Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
• Familiarity with Dual in-line Memory Module (Dimm)
• Experience with Fiber Optics technology
• Proficient in managing and maintaining Dell Poweredge Servers
