District sales manager
Description**
**District Sales Manager – Chicago, IL**
General Shale is one of North America's largest brick, stone and concrete block manufacturers, supplying a wide variety of masonry materials for residential, commercial and specialty architectural projects. General Shale, is seeking a **District Sales Manager** for our Sales department.**This position will be based at our Sales/Distribution Center in Chicago, IL.**
**Responsibilities will include:**
+ Ability to understand and define vision
+ Ability to carry out and follow through with company initiatives and properly communicate those overarching strategies to the sales team and direct reports
+ Provide sales team with the tools they need to be successful such as new product lines, presentations, samples, etc.
+ Able to interact and develop relationships with key vendors to ensure the best interest of the company
+ Take direction without equivocation
+ Resolve complaints and conflict
+ P&L including budgeting, forecasting, product pricing, PROFITABILITY
+ Solid understanding of industry, trends, products, and competition
+ Possess passion and enthusiasm for the company and their job
+ Team player
+ Possess “entrepreneurial spirit” (i.e. grows market share and increases revenue using creative, forward-thinking approaches to product development, go-to-market strategies, etc.)
The successful candidate will report to General Shale’s Regional Sales Manager.
**Position Requirements:**
+ 7+ years of experience in hard materials/construction sales
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business or related curriculum
+ Experience in collaborating and/or managing/leading diversified sales teams
+ Experience in consumer-focused sales and merchandising
+ Willingness to travel
+ Willingness to relocate
+ Excellent written/verbal presentation skills
+ Excellent outside/inside sales coaching/leadership experience
+ Excellent strategic planning skills
+ Proven leadership character in the following areas:
