Overview:

Job Summary

Leads the development and execution strategy for software testing, software qualification as well as test automation. Manages a technical team consisting of software developers as well as software testers.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities
  • Drives the test automation strategy across development and test.
  • Collaborates with the software leadership team to define an overall qualification automation strategy.
  • Provides software technical leadership on software Test Automation.
  • Drives the proliferation of continues integration testing.
  • Collaborates with peers to define and evolve software qualification processes (including test creation, traceability, automated DHF artifact creation, i.e., verification structure report)
  • Responsible for Software Test Automation frameworks and design.
  • Supports Software development team in evaluation and investigation, of software defects.
  • Provides level of effort for assigned software testing activities; tracks personal estimates over time to improve accuracy
  • Follows project and corporate software plans, standards, and procedures to perform software testing and test automation. This includes participating in requirements review, automation framework design, test case reviews, and team meetings.
  • Establish best practices and key principals pertaining to test automation.
  • Drives the cybersecurity testing leveraging Test Automation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience or Master's Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience or waiver based on experience.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Test Automation - Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Component Testing, API testing, End-to-end Testing
  • Non-functional testing approach and methods
  • Cybersecurity testing approach and methods
  • Test Metrics - Code Coverage, Requirements Coverage, Defect Leakage
  • 10+ years' Test Automation related software engineering experience and a hands-on Technical Lead with proficiency in Python, C++, PyTest Framework, UI Test Automation framework like Squish
  • Experience in testing Embedded Software including Firmware with relevant automation frameworks
  • Experienced Engineer skilled in Technical Coaching with hands-on coaching experience
  • Ability to operate instrumentation.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment of software developers and testers.
  • Experience testing complex system of systems.

People Manager Accountabilities:

Effectively carries out the expectations of Werfen People Managers as defined in Werfen’s Role of the Manager program. Among others this includes maintaining regular, at minimum once a month, and transparent communication with the team through effective use of formal one-on-one meetings with direct reports and team meets.

Managing performance issues and conflict proactively; uses judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources. Responsibility for the team´s compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team.
