POSITION SUMMARY:

The 3rd Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician performs periodic equipment maintenance as detailed in periodic equipment maintenance schedule and is responsible for repairs to downed equipment of a limited scope. May assist engineering staff in establishing and implementing periodic equipment maintenance.

Receives detailed instruction on all work and works under close supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs periodic equipment maintenance as detailed in periodic equipment maintenance schedule and is responsible for repairs to downed equipment of a limited scope.
  • Responsible for fulfilling predetermined departmental quality, safety, quantity and teamwork requirements.
  • May assist engineering staff in establishing and implementing periodic equipment maintenance.
  • May perform limited training of peers.
  • May be required to collect operating and process data.
  • May participate in safety forums, Emergency Response Teams and station improvement teams.
  • Discusses technical problems encountered with supervisor or engineering personnel.
  • Works from formal and informal written/verbal instructions, specifications, technical manuals and engineering sketches.
  • Works closely with engineers and senior technicians.
  • Trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
  • Required participation in 24/7, seven day on-call program.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime as required in supporting manufacturing effort.

REQUIRED:

  • High school degree or equivalent with 0+ years of related experience.
  • Basic computer skills including the use of standard office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team, as well as individually.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be a fast-learner.
  • Must be trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.

DESIRED:

  • Associate’s degree or higher.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in wafer fabrication and clean room environment, requiring clean room gowning (smock, hood, gloves, booties, etc.)
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.)
  • Works in a facility that houses hazardous chemicals.
  • May potentially handle hazardous waste in accordance with the safe work practices defined in Hazardous

Communication and Hazardous Waste training programs. Initial training is required upon hiring status and

every 3 years thereafter. Employees handling hazardous waste will insure that waste containers in their

work areas are properly labeled and dated. Employees will ensure that waste containers are closed after

transferring waste to them. Report any incidents involving hazardous waste to supervisor.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • Each employee’s primary objective is to assure that the quality, delivery and cost controls within his/her control meet or exceed all of our internal and external customers’ requirements.
  • Each employee is required to abide by the Employee Handbook and the rules and regulations explained and provided at each orientation and training session. Special attention must be given to the safety aspects of these documents.
