This Solution Architect role is aligned to largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market customers.

AWS is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate customer adoption. The Role:
As a trusted customer advocate, Solutions Architects help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and provide advice on strategies for migrating existing workloads to the cloud. You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of customers through your passion for educating, training, designing and building cloud solutions.

You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build deep adoption and broad use of AWS within your customers, and you will do this by mobilizing resources within AWS and working with our extensive partner network.

As a Solutions Architect at AWS you will work directly with customers. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by the opportunity to work backwards from these customers' needs and help them gain competitive edge using AWS. As an experienced technologist and key member of the Account Team, you will help influence customers' architectural choices across broad use cases involving compute, storage, databases, security, networking as well as advanced scenarios involving serverless, analytics, and AI/ML.

As a part of the role, you will provide exceptional technical design guidance and thought leadership. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge with the AWS solution architect community. You will also gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

Travel: Travel will be mostly regional, with an expectation of travel around 20%.

Key job responsibilities
  • As a strategic member of the AWS Solutions Architect team, you will act as a trusted advisor to our managed systems integrators.
  • As a strategic technical leader in the field, provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote and accelerate partner engagements worldwide.
  • Ensure customer and partner success in designing, building, and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
  • Ensure successful cloud deployment by leading in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class AWS solutions.
  • Educate customers and partners of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS.
  • Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers, blogs, and proof of concepts.
  • In collaboration with the sales and partner teams, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS and its partner solutions.
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers and partners.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.

  • You will have a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a systems engineer or architect.
  • You will keep your existing technical skills honed and develop new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions.
  • You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
