About Our Client

Global Non-Profit in NYC (3 days in office) looking for Senior Payroll Specialist. $100k-$125k + excellent benefits. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for the U.S. employee population. This role requires extensive knowledge of payroll compliance, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to work.

Experience with Workday payroll systems is essential.

Job Description
  • Process payroll for U.S. employees on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage payroll data within Workday, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and other employee data updates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings, garnishments, and wage laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate benefits deductions, time and attendance tracking, and reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, answer employee inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Support year-end processes, including W-2 generation and payroll audits.
  • Assist with payroll-related projects and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation and ensure organizational compliance.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with a focus on U.S. payroll processing.
  • Strong experience with Workday Payroll is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or global organization is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
