At the American Society of Home Inspectors, graphic design is about understanding our members and building our brand. The position requires someone who understands the fundamental principles of graphic design, is highly detail-oriented, organized, committed, deadline-driven, and a self-motivated problem solver who actively seeks to expand their knowledge base. This person must be able to execute the following duties with minimal supervision:

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Serve as lead for all in-house graphic design needs, including but not limited to:
  • Transform written content into persuasive graphics that align and adhere to brand requirements.
  • Creates logos for association members on demand.
  • Monthly digital newsletter layout. Create and produce flyers, PowerPoint presentations, event materials, and other collateral as needed.
  • Monthly print magazine. Combine graphics, written content, and advertisements to create visually appealing layouts. Select colors, layouts, typefaces, and fonts for magazine covers and inside pages
  • Create graphics for digital platforms, including websites and social media.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years experience as a Graphic Designer
  • Experience working on a print magazine
  • Portfolio showing breadth and depth of work created
  • Advanced/Expert Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) skills required.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web publishing.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of typography and AP style.
  • Ability to work with other creative team members to communicate ideas and information visually.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, committed, deadline-driven, and self-motivated problem solver who actively seeks to expand their knowledge base.
