Medical Payment Poster

Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in medical payment posting? Are you skilled in reviewing and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and have prior experience with specialty medical practices? If so, we want you to join our team!

Location: Roseville, CA

Job Responsibilities:

• Accurately post payments to patient accounts from EOBs, insurance checks, and electronic remittances.
• Review and reconcile all payments, ensuring proper allocation and adjustments across accounts.
• Process and resolve any discrepancies or denials from insurance carriers in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with billing or collections teams to address payment-related issues or miss-postings.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient and financial data.
• Assist with generating reports related to payment postings and account reconciliations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 months of medical payment posting experience [this includes manual and electronic payment systems].
• Proficiency in interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), including handling adjustments, denials, co-pays, and deductibles.
• Prior experience working with specialty medical practices (e.g., cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc.) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume payment environment.
• Familiarity with medical billing software (e.g., EPIC, NextGen, Kareo, Dentrix or similar platforms) and basic knowledge of ICD-10/CPT codes is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of insurance processes, including commercial, government, and private payers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills for effectively resolving posting discrepancies.
