Business Development Manager – US Regional Dealers and Audiophile Accounts

The Business Development Manager – Premium Audio & Regional Dealers will be responsible for growing Sennheiser consumer audio sales and market share within the premium audio segment through developing strong relationships with regional accounts, specialty retailers and high-end audio strategic partners.

This role will focus on account management, channel development, and revenue growth, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand positioning and business objectives. This individual will develop and implement a winning Audiophile strategy for the US by supporting Go-to-Market initiatives, focusing on expanding our physical distribution, collaborating with trade marketing for omnichannel growth, and engaging with our enthusiastic customer base to invest, grow and drive our product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

Regional Dealer and Premium Account Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key regional dealers, specialty retailers and high-end audio accounts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for pricing, inventory planning, promotions and dealer support
  • Implement strategic sell-in and sell-through programs to drive revenue growth
  • Educate dealers on product positioning, competitive differentiation, and technical capabilities of product range
  • Ensure compliance with MAP policies, ensuring adherence to competition law expectations
  • Collaborate on regional sales forecasts to ensure inventory availability and improve forecast accuracy
Business Growth and Market Expansion
  • Identify new dealer partnerships/prospects and expansion opportunities within key regional markets
  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with brand and revenue objectives
  • Track and analyze sales performance, dealer inventory levels, and competitive market trends to optimize sales strategies
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop dealer incentives, co-op programs, programmatic media, and brand promotional campaigns
Strategic Pricing and Commercial Execution
  • Work closely with finance and sales leadership to ensure profitable pricing and margin structures
  • Manage and deliver annual sales plans, forecasting and revenue targets for assigned accounts
  • Negotiate terms, contract and promotional funding with key strategic partners
  • Monitor competitive pricing trends and channel dynamics to make proactive business recommendations, and opportunities for efficient account management, and grow Sennheiser as a market leader
  • Support product management to secure best-in-class development, implementation, and execution
  • Analyze Business Intelligence (BI), Polaris, GfK/Circana data, and other survey results to understand market and consumer behavior.
Industry Engagement & Brand Advocacy
  • Represent the brand at trade shows, dealer events, and industry networking opportunities
  • Train and educate dealers and sales teams on product innovations, brand messaging and best practices
  • Maintain a deep understanding of audiophile trends, emerging technologies and market demands
  • Monitor brand sentiment and product response in relevant Audiophile social channels.

More about you:

Education
  • University or Technical College Degree in business or related field
Work Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within a premium consumer brand; experience within the Consumer Electronics or Premium Audio Industry preferred
  • Minimum 5-10 years sales experience selling premium consumer brands to a specialty channel, with audio experience a plus

  • Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills, with experience working in a high-touch, consultative sales environment
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed to engage with accounts and attend industry events

  • Proven track record of managing regional or specialty customers
  • Strong understanding or appreciation of the premium audio market, high-performance home theater, and Hi-Fi segments
  • Ability to drive sell-in and sell-through strategies, optimizing dealer performance and ensuring proper inventory levels
  • Experience in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and promotional planning
  • Strong business acumen, ability to assess P&L impact, margin structures, revenue forecasting and analytical skills
  • Strong sales and closing skills with proven ability to meet and exceed targets
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
IT Skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, sales forecasting platforms, and Microsoft Office. BI experience a plus.
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $88K - $115K. This role is also bonus eligible.
