Interventional Radiology Technician - IRTECH 0218JM#02

Location: Morristown, NJ

Job Description: We seek a skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to join our dynamic team in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting in complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases while maintaining high patient care and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional procedures, including scrubbing side-by-side with specialty proceduralists.
• Operate and have a strong knowledge of floor and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
• Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex interventional products during procedures.
• Apply critical thinking skills to support proceduralists in neuro-interventional and other complex cases.
• Operate power injection devices for the administration of iodinated contrast media.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures while setting up procedural trays.
• Utilize closed-loop communication to ensure effective team collaboration.
• Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.
• Document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) and send images to the Sectra/PACs system.
• Perform post-intervention groin management.
• Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Required:
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Associate degree OR completion of an accredited radiographic program.

Certifications & Licensure:

• NJ Radiographic Licensure.
• BLS certification from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association program or an accredited BLS program with skill demonstration in basic life support.
• Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.

Experience & Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardio-Vascular Technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.
• Strong technical knowledge of fluoroscopic modalities.
• Experience assisting with interventional procedures and managing complex products.
• Ability to operate power injection devices for contrast media administration.
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and image transfer to Sectra/PACs.

This role closely aligns with a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) position but requires radiographic licensure to operate X-ray fluoroscopic modalities.
