Sr. Tax Accountant

The ideal candidate must be proficient in virtual office environments and have a deep understanding of the tax preparation software, UltraTax. The candidate will also contribute to tax strategy discussions, providing guidance on the best tax positions for our clients, without direct client interaction.

Responsibilities:

• Review and prepare business tax returns including Forms 1065 (Partnerships), 1120 (C Corporations), 1120S (S Corporations), and 990 (Non-Profit Organizations).
• Review and prepare personal tax returns (Form 1040).
• Analyze tax situations and provide advice to the internal team on optimizing tax positions for clients.
• Advise internal team members on tax planning strategies and solutions.
• Ensure accurate filing and adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax research and provide solutions to complex tax issues.
• Collaborate with the team in a virtual office environment, effectively using communication and project management tools (Google Suite, Slack, Asana).
• Stay updated on current tax laws, changes, and industry trends to provide sound advice and recommendations.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or EA preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation, including a focus on business and personal tax returns.
• Proficiency in UltraTax software is required.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and strategy development.
• Familiarity with Virtual Office platforms and remote work tools.
• Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.).
• Experience with Slack and Asana is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
