The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is a part of the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences and UCI Health. The Samueli Institute works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-informed treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.
Responsibilities:
The Physical Therapist 2 provides a full range of physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. The Physical Therapist performs integrative physical therapy and delivers individualized treatment techniques.The Physical Therapist also collaborates and consults with Faculty, Medical and Allied Health providers regarding appropriate utilization of physical therapy. The incumbent acts as a clinical resource, though maintenance of a specialty certification and participation in clinical research in the field of expertise.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with diverse client group, medical staff, and faculty.
- Ability to conduct the most complex analysis, develop and present recommendations, findings, and determine appropriate course of treatment.
- Advanced skills associated with conducting the most complex diagnosis, problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills associated with program development and implementation.
- Excellent customer service skills and patient experience.
- Clinical internship experience in integrative or holistic physical therapy techniques and/or modalities including neuromuscular field awareness and Neuromuscular field retraining.
- Clinical experience/ or ability to develop competency for Osteopathic Manipulative treatment techniques within 6 mos. of hire
- Recent (within 2 years) physical therapy continuing education classes in osteopathic manipulative treatment, holistic physical therapy approaches, integrative physical therapy approaches.
- Ability to implement advanced knowledge and skill in external and internal pelvic floor examination and treatment.
- Master or Doctoral degree in physical therapy from a recognized college or university with an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current California Physical Therapist License
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist.
