Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting for their Training Supervisor. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. There may occasionally be times when early morning or evening hours are necessary.Hours can be flexed to meet the needs of the training department.
SWC is a state run, licensed and certified Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD). Position Summary
This position is responsible for supervising, planning, and implementing training and development programs for staff, students and community providers statewide following State and Federal guidelines for an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (IFC/IID).In addition to directly supervising training staff, this position coordinates, develops and evaluates educational offerings related to regulatory requirements for direct client service provision, health and safety of clients and staff, professional development, material handling, equipment operation, and physical environment maintenance within a facility for Individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD).
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $40.00 and $43.65 per hour (approximately between $83,200 and $90,800 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Staff Development Program Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/03.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following:
- Experience presenting formal training to adult learners.
- Experience developing and delivering educational programs.
- Experience as a supervisor or lead worker performing tasks such as assigning/reviewing work, coaching/mentoring, conducting performance evaluations, interviewing, recommending hiring of staff, etc.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience presenting formal staff training in a healthcare or a long-term care setting.
- Experience developing and evaluating adult learning curriculum.
