Responsibilities:
The American Nurses Association's (ANA) Nursing: Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, 3rd Edition (2015), provides a definition of nursing as: 'Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.' The scope of practice of the registered nurse and the corresponding standards and competencies are dependent on the nurse's education, experience, role and population served (ANA, Scope and Standards of Practice, 2015, p 2.). The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) at Laureate Medical Group and Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients and performs all duties in accordance with Provider, Practice policy, established guidelines, procedures and protocols, and within the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
The Laureate Medical Group Staff RN manages care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the nursing division, to include the Northside Nursing Collaborative Care Model. Additionally, the practice of all professional nurses at Laureate Medical Group reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment.The practice of Professional Nursing is a dynamic endeavor as practice parameters, evidence, and the structure of healthcare entities rapidly change. It is therefore important that RNs employed at Northside Hospital do not rely on a specific or historical job description to remain unchanged.
Rather, this and future job descriptions are subject to modification in order to stay current with the healthcare needs of our patients and their families, the community as a whole, and the goals and vision of the organization.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations of licensure.
- Minimum of two years (2) full-time experience as a RN Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- National nursing certification in practice specialty area.
- Physician office experience
Work Hours:: 7:45-4:15
