Infrastructure Engineer

We are in search of a dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to be a part of our team. Based in Newark, New Jersey, you will be instrumental in administering Windows Server environments, managing cybersecurity, and automating routine tasks. This role provides an opportunity for a long-term contract employment.

Responsibilities:

• Administering and maintaining Windows Server environments, including installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Managing and troubleshooting Active Directory, domain controllers, user accounts, group policies, and organizational units.
• Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and implementing performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Implementing and managing backup solutions for critical systems and performing regular system restores and disaster recovery testing.
• Configuring and managing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network security policies.
• Utilizing PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate routine administrative tasks, such as patch management, system updates, and user account creation.
• Conducting regular vulnerability assessments of Windows servers, workstations, and other Microsoft-based systems using tools like Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Nessus, or Qualys.
• Regularly deploying security patches and updates to mitigate known vulnerabilities across all systems and applications.
• Enforcing strong user authentication mechanisms, managing permissions, implementing multi-factor authentication, and ensuring compliance with least privilege access policies.
• Responding to and investigating security incidents, analyzing logs, determining the root cause of security breaches, and recommending remediation steps.
• Performing security audits on systems, configurations, and logs to ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.
• Deploying and managing cybersecurity tools such as anti-virus/anti-malware, endpoint detection and response, and data loss prevention solutions.
• Ensuring data protection policies are enforced and managing encryption tools for protecting sensitive data in transit and at rest.
