Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Austin, Texas, within the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry. The role involves a variety of accounting functions, including processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to the finance department.
Responsibilities:- Accurately process customer credit applications
- Maintain precise customer credit records
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
- Participate in the month end closing process, which includes the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation
- Perform, review, reconcile and analyze various inventory accounts
- Prepare and distribute month end reports
- Provide accounting support to field personnel
- Calculate and remit Sales & Use Tax
- Prepare and file tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
- Provide audit support and schedules upon request
- Perform other accounting functions and special projects as required
- Comply with SOX compliance test work. • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries
- Ability to handle Month End Close activities
- Experience with Fixed Asset Inventory management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to perform Account Reconciliation
- Relevant experience in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
