The Aman New York Sales Manager will support the Director of Sales and is responsible for business generation as it relates to prospecting and securing group business. As a Sales Manager you will be responsible for working and collaborating with a team that includes Revenue Management, Reservations, Catering and Conference Services, Marketing, Operations and Public Relations.
The Sales Manager will liaise with the Aman Global Sales Office and Aman Regional Sales leaders worldwide to maximize business potential. In addition to working within geographically and/or industry parameters for local corporations and travel agencies to maximize business in all market segments.

The Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales.

This position has an annual compensation rate of $90,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential areas of business in Corporate, and Leisure markets
  • Develop and maintain relationship with key accounts
  • Explore new sources of business by developing new contacts
  • Travel to attend major trade shows (GBTA, ACTE, IMEX, Virtuoso Travel Week, LE Miami and sales trips).
  • Plan sales trips to key markets and accounts to maintain relationships and improve Aman New York market share
  • Adhere to budget guidelines when considering travel plans and client recognition
  • Lead and manage sales coordinator -- motivate, monitor, and maintain daily activities and progress
  • Achieve (and exceed whenever possible) goals as outlined in annual reviews relating to designated market segments.
  • Monitor own accounts’ monthly production
  • Oversee and maintain the hotel database (Opera S&C, NextGuest) and ensure it is kept in order.
  • Consistently quote rates to help achieve the hotels’ occupancy, average rate, and RevPAR goals
  • Contract and draft proposals
  • Assist Global office with strategic planning, market segment growth and new account generation.
  • Initiate, and coordinate all aspects of familiarization groups for Aman New York as needed.
  • Conduct on-site inspections for existing or prospective corporate / commercial accounts, travel agents, travel influencers, decision makers and end users
  • Be aware of current market trends and supply competitor activity information to the Director of Sales
  • Ability to maintain complete knowledge of hotel offerings and comply with all the hotels departmental policies, procedures, Standard Operating Manuals, Checklists and Job Duties as provided by the hotel.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports
  • Promote other Aman Hotels whenever possible
  • Attend daily sales briefings, weekly revenue meetings, and monthly sales meetings
  • Self-motivator, positive, inclusive, genuine, innovative, engaging, and energetic personality
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgement and courteous genuine service with guests and fellow compassionate hosts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings if necessary.
  • Participate in any projects as assigned by the Director of Sales
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Sales

Qualifications:

  • 3 years' experience in hotel sales preferably in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Has experience in Consortia, Corporate and/or Group sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly
  • Must hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field – communications, events, catering, hospitality, or sales
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft office applications including by not limited to Word/Excel/PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn new software or hardware
  • Solid knowledge of food & beverage and, sales, catering and/or event field
  • Sensitive and inclusive to all cultural nuances
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, multi-lingual is a plus
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders
  • Ability to always maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift, push, items, equipment, and packages of up to 50lbs.
