Overview:

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Room Inspector supports the hotel’s commitment to quality service by inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining guest rooms and other areas of hotel. Ensures high standards in service.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures guest rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained.
  • Strives to exceed service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction.
  • Responds to guest questions or problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Meets hotel’s standard for number of rooms inspected daily.
  • Trains attendants on proper cleaning procedures and keeps room status reports current.
  • Assists with room assignments in the absence of supervisor and directs Team Members when needed.
  • Cleans, prepares, and inspects guest rooms prior to guest arrival, during their stay, and upon check out, ensuring each guest is satisfied with the level of cleanliness and service; responsibilities include vacuuming, sweeping, dusting all room surfaces, properly changing bed linens, sanitizing and cleaning bathrooms, mirrors, windows, fixtures, and floors.
  • Maintains prescribed standards of cleanliness for assigned areas using approved cleaning solutions and procedures.
  • Stocks and restocks room attendant carts and workstations with sheets, pillowcases, towels, and amenities.
  • Signs out floor key and reports to assigned area.
  • Turns in daily housekeeping reports to Housekeeping Supervisor at the end of shift.
  • Supplies guest room with all amenities, linens, and special items as requested.
  • Reports linens and supplies used.
  • Reports status of rooms to front desk and housekeeping in assigned manner for reselling.
  • Performs additional detailed or occasional cleaning as assigned.
  • Turns in articles left in room for “Lost and Found” handling following hotel procedures.
  • Ensures that all appliances in room are set at correct setting for guest comforts and hotel efficiency.
  • Reports any discrepancies in room status to Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Solves routine problems that may occur on the job with professionalism.
  • Reports and writes maintenance orders as needed in work areas to Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Prior Housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.

Minimum Pay Rate: $19.60 per hour

Maximum Pay Rate: $22.53 per hour
