Position Summary:
The Staffing Operations Manager oversees the strategic planning and execution of staffing processes across nursing unit, ensuring optimal staffing levels are consistently maintained.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Manages day to day operations of Centralized Staffing Office staffing.
- Continuous evaluation of the forecasting of department schedules aligning staffing resources with organizational goals
- Partner with Senior Director, on continuous improvement projects, data analysis and integration of advanced staffing
- Cultivate and sustains strategic partnerships with site leadership to proactively identify & address staffing related
assignments, scheduling, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Exhibits advanced judgement and critical reasoning skills to devise innovative solutions & spearhead process
- Assist department leadership with staff scheduling, bonus offerings, payroll, and HR issues.
- Reviews and optimizes department master staffing plans to ensure the provision of safe and adequate patient care.
- Oversees the strategic planning and execution of daily staffing operations to meet organizational needs effectively.
- Manages the administration and optimization of the self-scheduling process to enhance efficiency and staff satisfaction.
- Leads the response to unplanned staffing variances, coordinating with on-duty staff and contacting off duty personnel
benchmarks for each facility.
- Collaborates with Nurse Operations Managers to develop comprehensive reports that align staffing metrics with
closely with nursing operations managers to review staffing schedules at least 6 weeks in advance.
- Facilitates negotiations to balance workforce needs, ensuring that schedules are finalized only after all variances have been
- Strategically plans for long term leave and time off requests to address potential shortages.
- Develops understanding and relationships with staff 24/7 so that ultimate flexibility is insured.
- Works with NOMs and Administrative Supervisors for resource management.
- Works with NOMs to develop reports that correlate staffing with guidelines.
- Develops easily understood graphs to report to Administration, NOMs and staff and for annual survey visits.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other
federal, state and local standards.
Other Related Functions:
- Day-to-day staffing: Evaluates planned staffing supply with patient care needs. Receives sick or absent calls, recording
- Develops resource material to enable quick and timely communication with staff members.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience:
- Two (2) years of clinical, process improvement or operational experience.
- Preferred 2 years of staffing experience.
