Overview:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products and materials meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods, identifying defects, and working with production teams to resolve quality issues.

The Quality Inspector will maintain detailed records of inspections and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement in quality control processes.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Inspection & Testing
  • Inspect and test materials, components, and products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to specifications.
  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections as required.
  • Record inspection results in detailed reports and provide feedback to production and quality teams.
  • Identify defects and collaborate with production staff to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Supplier & Material Verification
  • Verify that incoming materials meet required specifications by reviewing supplier documentation and performing inspections.
  • Ensure that all incoming and in-process materials comply with applicable standards and company specifications.
Equipment & Process Management
  • Maintain calibration of testing equipment and tools to ensure accurate inspection results.
  • Assist in creating and updating quality inspection procedures and documentation.
  • Monitor quality trends and collaborate with teams on quality improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company quality policies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by participating in quality audits and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and other relevant quality systems.
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and quality control methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using quality inspection software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
