Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist

Mabbett and Associates, Inc. (Mabbett), an award winning environmental, health and safety (EHandS) consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist for a position located in Huntsville, AL. The candidate must be capable of leading and executing extensive environmental and management support for Department of Defense (DoD) system testing, and facilities planning, design, construction, operation and sustainment for the firms Federal client with global locations.
The individual hired for this position must be able to work both independently, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team at a Federal client site.
**Responsibilities**
Execute environmental policies, studies and analysis, as well as oversee the management of environmental activities, including NEPA-related to DoD system testing, and facilities planning, design, construction, operation and sustainment. Develop strategies related to environmental technical planning, management, and compliance.The ideal candidate selected for this position must be able to lead teams to support multiple concurrent high priority environmental projects, as well as provide direct supervision and guidance to team members. Must be able to manage/coordinate Mabbett effort in support of clients objectives.
**Base Location**
This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. However, travel is required for specific project work throughout the United States and abroad (generally less than 25%). Currently, situational telework is authorized within the local commuting area, at the discretion of the client and corporate leadership.Currently the position is on a hybrid schedule, working onsite on Tuesdays and Thursdays however, the telework authorization it is subject to change at any time based on client requirements.
**Requirements**
::: {bind="html: Job.Requirements"}- Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related engineering/science field.
- Ten (10) years or more of relevant environmental work experience.
- Strong National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), cultural resources/Section 106, environmental compliance (to include air quality and permitting), and experience conducting environmental compliance audits.
- Experience with National Historic Preservation Act compliance and consultation is preferred.
- Experience in Environmental Management System implementation and maintaining conformance.
- Prior military or Federal consulting experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication and computer skills are a must.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and/or other relevant environmental professional credentials such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Geologist (PG); or Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) are preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully obtain (or possess an active) DoD Secret security clearance. Individuals with active clearances are preferred
- Ability to work in the field, work outdoors, and lift 50 lbs.
