The Office of Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) is seeking a Data and Systems Analyst consultant to assist with analysis, documentation, and recommendations for retrofits of enterprise data systems relating to the implementation of Workday.
This role will work with DAPIR staff to evaluate the impacts of upstream data and systems changes on central data warehouses, enterprise Tableau reporting, internal analysis tools, and ancillary systems. This position will independently lead analysis, documentation, and creation of recommendations on how these system impacts may need to be retrofit to accommodate the upstream data structures.
The individual in this role is expected to have strong analytical and technical skills combined with excellent communication skills along with the ability to develop and maintain trusted client relationships with key stakeholders.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal DAPIR resources as well as partner projects across the University
- Analyze existing data warehouses (Oracle, Snowflake) for impacts due to Workday changes
- Analyze existing enterprise Tableau dashboards for impacts due to Workday changes
- Analyze existing ancillary systems for impacts due to Workday changes
- Catalog existing DAPIR internal analysis tools and analyze for Workday impacts
- Document system requirements and user stories
- Analyze requirements against existing system configuration and Workday impacts to identify gaps and provide retrofit recommendations
- Write test plans and coordinate testing with stakeholders
- Update related documentation to capture retrofit changes
- Participate in Workday pre-implementation preparation activities
- Provide Workday post-implementation support and analysis
- 8+ years of professional experience as a technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Consultant
- Experience gathering requirements, performing gap/fit analysis, and writing user stories
- Experience working with data and reporting users to interpret needs, making system recommendations, and providing user support either through a project or managing a production backlog
- Experience performing analysis in analytics and data management environments
- Experience writing complex SQL or Python for data and system analysis
- Experience writing test scripts and guiding users through testing
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Workday implementation experience
- Experience with data migration or transformations, including source system data mapping, translations, and cleansing
- Experience performing system, quality, and/or smoke testing
