HR Coordinator - Dexter

Robert Half is seeking an HR Coordinator / Assistant for a manufacturing company located in Dexter MI. This role is 100% onsite and long term. The Human Resource Coordinator performs an internal customer service function by responding to employee requests and questions.

This position will aid in the hourly recruitment process and assist with the maintenance and creation of records in the learning management system. Pay up to $22/hr. If you have HR experience in the manufacturing industry, let's chat.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens resume submissions, applications, schedules interview and assist with the interview process, as requested.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the onboarding process, identifying and recommending start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Conducts new permanent orientation.
  • Prepares new-employee files.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Maintain training database and training records.
  • Assists with identifying issues affecting human resources and implementing activities to continuously improve process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including backup to receptionist as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software, training software and online platforms.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in business or related field; OR two (2) years of directly related experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative support experience in recruitment, training, or human resources.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
