Job Description:
- The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse in the CVU Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit will use clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions. This position involves caring for cardiology patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers, as well as post-op care for open-heart surgery patients. The RN will also care for patients with congestive heart failure and assist in electrophysiology studies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical nursing care to cardiovascular patients, including those undergoing and recovering from advanced cardiology procedures and surgeries.
- Work with electrophysiology studies and support patients with congestive heart failure.
- Collaborate with NISUS research on national clinical trials.
- Float to similar units as needed to meet patient care needs.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CVU or similar cardiovascular care experience.Travel Experience: Required.
Skills: EKG comfortability.
Flexibility: Must be willing to float to similar units as required.
Michigan License: Active nursing license for Michigan with verification through LARA and Nursys.
