Retail Human Resources Generalist

Your Role...:

By exhibiting exceptional teamwork, boundless curiosity, and the utmost care, the Retail Human Resources Generalist will assist their team to fulfil Blick’s commitment to our customers, the Arts, and our local communities.

Primary Tasks: This position exists to be the primary contact to provide support, leadership, and oversight of Human Resources functionality in a geographical retail area. The Retail Human Resources Generalist will support a positive work environment in our stores by supporting store managers and associates in the consistent and effective implementation of company policies and procedures, providing recruitment and staffing assistance in conjunction with the Retail Recruiting Department, addressing safety concerns, investigating harassment claims, and supporting the training and development of retail managers and associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource for all retail associates within a geographical area by being available and accessible to discuss all Human Resources related questions or concerns.
  • Serves as the primary contact for management with respect to labor relations issues and concerns on a day-to-day basis.
  • Coach and educate the field operations teams on associate relations and performance management processes.
  • Supports the performance management process to ensure continuous improvement and the implementation of best practices. Assist managers with coaching, corrective actions, improvement plans, goal setting, and performance reviews.
  • Under direction of the HR Director, conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
  • Able to collaborate with all levels of leadership.
  • Identifies trends and provide guidance to management at all levels to alleviate associate relations concerns and promote a positive work culture.
  • Assist the management team with implementing action plans that improve employee engagement and cultivate the associate experience.
  • Partner with the Retail Recruiting Team to ensure stores are fully staffed.
  • Ensure internal training and development programs are fully implemented to meet talent needs.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Human Resources policies, procedures, practices, and standards across the area of responsibility.
  • Maintains thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources regulations, and Federal, State, and local employment laws.
  • Provide HR-related reporting to store operations team on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
Job Requirements
  • Three or more years of Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State employment laws and other government compliance regulations. Knowledge of employment laws relating to staffing and recruiting, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety training, and preventative labor relations.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others. Enthusiastic, energetic, approachable, and personable.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills. Ability to set priorities and organize time. Demonstrates initiative and can work independently.
  • Strong computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience supporting a large multi-unit field population.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively and discreetly deal with sensitive issues.
  • Must be willing to travel 50% or more.

Pay Rate:

The pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws. This pay range applies to this location. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
  • $65,000 - $75,000 per year + Annual Bonus
