Public Senior Accountant

We are in search of a Public Senior Accountant to join our team based in Saint Louis, Missouri. The selected candidate will be a crucial part of our Utilities/Infrastructure industry operations. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity and holds the responsibility of supporting our financial and external reporting teams.

• Provide essential support to the Controller team in financial reporting and external reporting
• Assist in closing the ledgers and performing account analysis
• Take part in the preparation, review, and coordination of external compliance filings
• Prepare, review, and support the financial reporting team on month-end close responsibilities
• Contribute to the preparation of financial information for various management presentations and ad hoc analysis
• Stay updated with changing US GAAP, SEC, and regulatory rules and regulations
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Execute special project and ad hoc requests as assigned. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Utilities/Infrastructure industry
• Proficiency in accounting functions and accrual accounting procedures
• Proven experience in auditing, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to manage prepaids and prepaid accounts
• Familiarity with ledger reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate
• Experience in executing the financial close process, as well as monthly financial close activities
• Proficiency in using Oracle Fusion and Oracle Fusion Financials software for accounting and financial tasks
• Must possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration and report writing
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required, a CPA designation is preferred.
