Job Description
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and protocols to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FSMA, and HACCP).
  • Team Management: Supervise and train the QC team, fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Product Testing: Oversee the analysis and testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Compliance and Certification: Manage internal and external audits, including certifications like ISO, Kosher, and Organic.
  • Document Control: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including test results, certifications, and deviation reports.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate non-conformance issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to ensure consistent product quality and address customer concerns effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement quality-enhancing strategies.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in the food and beverage or flavor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (e.g., LIMS).
  • Experience with flavor manufacturing or related food science fields.
  • Certifications in quality management systems, such as SQF Practitioner or PCQI.
  • Familiarity with sensory analysis and flavor profiling.
