The Departments of Anatomy and Neurobiology, Biological Chemistry, and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics promote biomedical discoveries and translational medicine through excellence in research, education, and community service. We are a vibrant community of scientific investigators within the School of Medicine actively engaged in innovative research, discovery, training and teaching.

Responsibilities:

Applies UC systemwide and local Academic Personnel policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to faculty and staff on all non-faculty academic personnel matters. Provides on-going high-level analysis that encompasses a wide range of duties that are especially time sensitive.

This position requires sound communication, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
  • Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill to assess priorities to complete work in a timely manner in an environment of deadline constraints, competing priorities, and/or changing workloads.
  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to unit management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information and using sensitivity, tact and discretion.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of organization, college and departmental policies and procedures of functional area.
  • Knowledge of Academic HR management systems and other business-related software programs.
  • 3-5 years Experience in Human Resources or Personnel Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
